I am Stephanie, and I’m passionate about growing stuff: like veggies, flowers, children, and ideas. I like and use colorful language in my communication; few words are as nimble as shit and fuck, and fewer yet are as funny.

I live near Denver in colorful Colorado with my partner, two rugrats, and a garden. I’m an overeducated scientist, teacher, mother, wife, thinker, scholar, and fucking eyeroller (not necessarily in that order). I have a lot to say, and even more to learn.
In my suburban south-facing side yard I use a bastardized combination of raised bed and Square Foot gardening. I’m always experimenting with new ways of growing up – vertical gardening – to maximize my space, and there’s a lot of pest infestations to fight off.
Even with my pro-level Googling skills, it’s often hard to find advice for my specific garden issues, and so I’ve had to learn through a great deal of trial and error. Or, because I’m a scientist, let’s say that I have drawn conclusions through hypotheses, testing, and data collection; and “publish or perish” is the old adage. Plus, I’m a teacher and platinum-level verbal explainer, so my techie husband planted the seed that I should blend my interests (see what I did there?).
The seed germinated. So here we are.
